Tattersalls Somerville Sale Kicks Off on Tuesday

The first edition of the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale, which is the rebranded Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale, will be staged at Park Paddocks on Tuesday. Also held in Newmarket in 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the sale remains geared towards precocious youngsters and the catalogue features 292 lots. Despite its short existence, the sale already has 10 black-type winners just in the last two years, with the leading graduates being G2 Lowther S. victress Miss Amulet (Ire) (Sir Prancealot {Ire}) and G3 Molecomb S. hero Steel Bull (Ire) (Clodovil {Ire}). The 2020 edition has yielded a trio of stakes winners amongst its 41 winners thus far: Italian Group 3 winner Windstormblack (GB) (Brazen Beau {Aus}), Royal Ascot listed scorer Chipotle (GB) (Havana Gold {GB}) and Sept. 4 G3 Sirenia S. heroine Eve Lodge (GB) (Ardad {Ire}).
